The Plan

Where We’re
Going

Each project, from buildings to the care funds alongside them, has been chosen because it directly expands what Camp can offer, while honoring the unique Gallagher identity that so many know and love.

Campaign Goal: $1.65 Million · 2026-2029

Why This Moment Matters

These investments will allow Camp to:

Preserve the growth we’ve already achieved.

We have added beds, but not enough shared spaces. These investments ensure every camper has not just a place to sleep, but places to learn, reflect, and gather as a full community.

Extend the season.

With improved gathering spaces and weatherized facilities, Gallagher can serve more schools, retreat groups, and community partners in the spring and fall, expanding both reach and impact.

Strengthen financial sustainability.

Expanded shoulder-season programming grows Camp’s earned revenue and reduces dependence on any single fundraising cycle. Set-aside funds for the organization’s future make it possible to sustain and grow programming alongside campers.

Safeguard what makes Gallagher, Gallagher.

Every project is being designed to honor Camp Gallagher’s unique character: rustic, open-air, community-centered, and unplugged.

Capital Projects

Lilliwaup

Investment: ~$425,000

Photo-style concept rendering of the Lilliwaup shelter with campers gathered at the fireplace The Lilliwaup site today: Camp’s historic brick fireplace in an open clearing Today Concept rendering

Lilliwaup sits at the heart of Camp.

Lilliwaup will be a new, covered gathering place for campers and visitors, built around Camp’s historic fireplace. The vision is an open-air shelter that keeps the feel of being outdoors while protecting campers from the elements, especially in spring and fall.

  • A durable, roofed shelter designed for all-Camp and small-group use in every season
  • A flexible space for instruction, reflection, play, and community gatherings
  • Designed to preserve Camp’s character: modest, open, and rooted in the outdoor experience
  • The foundation for expanded-season programming that carries Camp’s mission forward

Outcome: A practical, welcoming gathering space that expands program capacity, strengthens community life, and serves Camp’s next generation in every season.

Hurricane Ridge

Investment: $395,000

Hurricane Ridge is Camp’s kitchen and the heart of its dining program.

The Hurricane Ridge Kitchen feeds every person at Camp, every day. This investment brings it into compliance, improves the workflow, and ensures it can support a growing program for years to come.

  • Update key kitchen components for safety, improve workflow throughout the building, and increase work surfaces and storage
  • Modernized layout that meets today’s safety requirements and matches Camp’s growth
  • A sustainable workplace for the people who feed our community, season after season
  • Weatherize structure so kitchen can remain open year-round

Outcome: A right-sized, future-ready kitchen that carries Camp forward.

Sequim

Investment: $205,000

Sequim is Camp’s all-community gathering site, home to meals, traditions, and the moments campers remember for years.

Sequim Dining Hall is where the whole community gathers: for meals, for traditions, for the moments that become memories. This investment ensures it can keep doing that job for generations to come.

  • Add weather protection and insulation while keeping its open-air character (removable canvas-screen walls and gable ends)
  • Acoustic ceiling treatment and improved signage wall
  • A safe, warm hub for all-Camp gatherings in shoulder seasons

Outcome: Reliable all-Camp space that preserves Sequim’s character while extending Camp’s reach into the spring and fall.

Tahuya + Cabin Upgrades

Investment: $100,000

Tahuya is a smaller, temporary lodge site that needs upgrades to be usable, paired here with cabin upgrades across the main property.

Tahuya and Cabin upgrades will provide a place for Campers to feel at home. These include canvas windows, repaired doors, and a permanent Tahuya structure.

  • Tahuya rebuild ($75,000): Reconstruction of the Tahuya structure at the site above Quilcene, based on a current contractor estimate with contingency
  • Cabin upgrades ($25,000): Canvas window and door replacement across cabins, reducing wind and moisture, improving comfort, and extending seasonal use
  • Both investments maintain Camp’s open-air, rustic feel, improving the experience without changing the character

Outcome: More comfortable, durable spaces that care for campers the way Camp always has, and will continue to, for generations.

Organizational Sustainability

Strong spaces need a strong organization behind them.

$100,000

Facilities Care Fund

For the long-term stewardship of Camp facilities and newly improved spaces

The Facilities Care Fund sets aside $100,000 to ensure every Camp space is properly maintained.

$420,000

Annual Fund

For sustaining operations and staffing during the campaign period

Building Camp’s future requires keeping Camp running today. $420,000 directed to the Annual Fund across three years (~$140,000 per year) ensures that the organization can grow its facilities without having to choose between building and operating.

Outcome: A campaign that strengthens Camp’s whole organization, not just its physical spaces, ensuring that what is built is funded, staffed, and cared for from the start.

Extending the Season

Expanding Camp’s Season and Its Financial Foundation

90Today to 200Goal

Days of Full-Capacity Programming

In the current model, Camp is able to provide full-capacity programming for approximately 90 days of the year. Planned improvements will increase the window for full-capacity programming to approximately 200 days. Improvements will also allow for smaller-scale programming and community connection events year-round.

This expansion of Camp’s operating season creates meaningful earned revenue that directly supports long-term sustainability and ensures that Camp’s mission reaches more people.

At full-capacity, year-round programming could more than double the number of people served annually and move total revenue over $1 million.

The Impact of This Campaign

This campaign’s success will be measured in more than buildings.

For campers.

More weeks of programming means more young people finding their place at Camp, in every season, not just summer.

For families.

Camp Gallagher has never turned a camper away for inability to pay. This campaign protects that commitment: every improvement is built with campership access in mind, and expanded earned revenue helps fund it.

For the land.

A stronger, more sustainable Camp is a Camp that can keep teaching young people to care for the outdoors, season after season.

For the organization.

A campaign built on stewardship and sustainability means Camp Gallagher will be financially ready for whatever comes next.

Every gift, at every level, counts.

Together, we will ensure that every camper can belong, grow, and thrive at Camp Gallagher for generations to come.
